The Miami Design Preservation League is sponsoring the Gay and Lesbian Walking Tour, featuring history and contributions of the local LGBT community. The tour starts at 11 a.m. and leaves from the Art Deco Welcome Center at Ocean Drive and 10th Street.
IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance Festival: Aug. 14-19
Celebrate Afro-Cuban tradition and cultures at the three-day IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance Festival. Events include a children’s camp, academic conference at HistoryMiami (“Following the Steps of the Orishas: Afro-Cuban Spirituality in Urban Spaces”), a cocktail party and dance presentations.
